Step Up To First
In response to parent request, during the summer of 2011 we developed a program that specifically focuses on our youngest clients and their needs.
Many of our youngest clients have already repeated HeadStart, Pre-K or Kindergarten and are not ready for first grade. Their cognitive skills are just not developed to the point that they can learn in the traditional school manner. Our Step Up to First Program breaks learning down into its smallest components and addresses each specific need of the client. Its length is designed for summer delivery, but can be used during any time of the year. | Our program addresses the whole child and involves the family. We help parents understand how to help their child succeed in the educational setting. We address social skills such as friendship and bullying right along with cognitive skills development. In addition we work on such learning skills as eye tracking and motor development.
